Over the years at the SBEC, we’ve been fortunate to have many driven entrepreneurs walk through our doors. Between our Starter Company Plus program, Summer Company program, the workshops and events we offer, and free consultations, we guide many business owners through the process of realizing their entrepreneurial dreams. Here, we’ll be profiling a graduate of our Starter Company program, Ross Burley, who successfully runs Aeon Kitchens & Design.
Aeon Kitchens & Design helps their clients create their dream kitchens, from conceptualization to completion. They supply fine custom cabinetry and innovative design solutions to enhance their clients’ enjoyment in their homes.
Ross started the company two years ago to give himself more growth opportunities personally and professionally. He had become the Head of the design department with his former employer, and there was no higher position to work towards. Starting his own business gave him a chance to continue to learn and grow within his area of expertise.
Ross applied to the Starter Company program for guidance and advice. Ross says, “The Starter Company program and the mentors I have been connected with have been instrumental in helping me develop the skills necessary to be successful as a business owner.” He graduated the program with many valuable skills, including business planning, financial budgeting, sales, marketing, recruiting and hiring, training, goal setting, and priority management.
“Starter Company, the SBEC, my mentors, family and friends have been the safety net to help me through the ups and downs of running a business,” Ross says. Today, his business is booming and his company is currently hiring in the hopes of bringing on new employees.
