SUMMARY:Buying a Business: What to Look For\, the Red Flags & How to Get It Financed
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for entrepreneurs and professionals who are considering purchasing an existing business.\n\n\nThinking about buying an existing business? \nThis session takes a full\, practical look at what it actually takes — starting with the fundamentals: what makes a business a good buy\, the signals that show a healthy business\, and the red flags that should make you walk away. \nWe’ll walk through the buying process step by step\, from defining what you’re looking for through due diligence and closing\, and cover how deals typically get structured. \nThen we’ll get into financing: how CSBFL works\, how lenders underwrite an acquisition\, and how to structure an offer that’s financeable from day one. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or exploring your next acquisition\, you’ll leave with a practical framework for evaluating opportunities and a realistic picture of the road from first look to closing. \nBIO: Ravisha Gupta\nRavisha is the founder and CEO of Capital Conclave is a boutique M&A advisory and business brokerage firm founded in January 2025\, helping Canadian entrepreneurs buy\, sell\, and finance small to mid-size businesses ($500K–$20M). In under two years\, the firm has closed 25+ transactions\, offering services spanning acquisition financing\, business valuation\, exit planning\, and CSBFL-based commercial lending. Founder & M&A Advisor works closely with buyers to structure financeable offers and with owners to prepare their businesses for a successful exit — bringing a banker’s lens to every deal.
