Small Business Month celebrates the important contributions entrepreneurs make to their local communities.  With the support of our community partners, small business events will be held throughout the month of October.  There are many amazing events and activities – we encourage you to participate to gain helpful tips for your business, find new ways to improve and grow your business, and network with other small business owners.

Sales @ Sunrise: Setting up an Online Store

Immigrant Entrepreneur Networking Sessions 

Simcoe County is hosting an Immigrant Entrepreneur Networking Series to help those who are new to Canada and their communities to connected with other entrepreneurs and resources to help them.  Immigrant entrepreneurs can register online to attend these free networking sessions by visiting the County’s website at http://immigration.simcoe.ca/business, or calling (705) 725-4589.   The three networking sessions are being held on September 30th, October 7th and October 28th.

PowerUp Your Business Mentorship Program

The PowerUp Your Business Mentorship Program is a new program for existing entrepreneurs who want to take their business to the next level.  Entrepreneurs will hear from expert panelists on key business topics such as financing, marketing and sales, technology, human resources….and more.  Participants will also be able to connect with local mentors who are successful, seasoned business owners in order to obtain valuable advice on growing their business.

PowerUp is a joint initiative of Georgian College’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre, the Town of Collingwood, the South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre, the Centre for Business and Economic Development and the Business Enterprise Resource Network. Two information sessions will be held in October.
