The Small Business Enterprise Centre wants to strengthen opportunities of collaboration between Professionals and our Client Entrepreneurs therefore we have programs to fulfill those goals. Opportunities for the Professional to be a mentor for youth in our Summer Company Program, to be a Seminar Presenter, to be a Panel Participant, as well as writing business tips for our newsletter and website. The Professional will have direct links from The Enterprise Centre website to theirs.
Opportunities
Mentor for Summer Company Program
Summer Company is an exciting venue for youth to stretch their entrepreneurial spirit and make some cash. In partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation, Summer Company is geared to student’s ages 15 to 29 to receive hand-on business training and mentoring, along with awards of up to $3,000.00 to start and run their own business. The program engages volunteer business professionals to mentor the student entrepreneurs. Opportunities include the exchange of knowledge and energy between professional and student.
Time Commitment
Your mentoring responsibilities include attending bi-weekly meetings from the beginning of June until the end of August. Mentors also provide as-needed individual support to the student’s through sharing of their expertise, resources, and business knowledge.
Seminar Presenter
Small Business Enterprise runs seminars throughout our support area in various venues and on a variety of interests to small business at all stages of their business life cycles. Professional’s present information within their area of expertise and provide presentation materials for take away to the attending clients. Small Business Enterprise is on hand to provide support in the areas of marketing the seminar, welcoming, presentations, client registration, and to provide other services as needed to the presenter and the client.
Time Commitment
The Professional volunteers their time and have the opportunity to meet new and upcoming Clients in our area. The seminars are typically 2- 3 hours in length are usually held during weekday evenings, however, there are some weekend happenings. Locations vary throughout Clearview Township, Collingwood, Town of Blue Mountains and Wasaga Beach.
Panel Participant
There are times when the Small Business Enterprise Centre runs a panel format during a seminar presentation, thereby providing the opportunity for several professionals to be available to our Clients at one time to share expertise and their particular “story” of success.

The Small Business Enterprise Centre invites you to blog on our website with linkages to your website. We feature upcoming events, business tips and links to other websites of interest. Your blog will be submitted to staff, which features tips within your area of expertise to the new, established and growing entrepreneurs in the area.
