Starter Company Plus Spotlight: Georgian Bay Pottery
Earth inspired, quality artistry and stunning colours are three things you might say about the works of Georgian Bay Pottery. Owner Kelly Bradley creates all her pottery from her home studio on the shores of Georgian Bay so it’s safe to say she doesn’t have to go far for instant inspiration. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and the perfect vessel for your morning cup of coffee or tea. Georgian Bay Pottery is planning to launch a community studio where people can come by, participate, and hone their pottery skills with direction and guidance from Kelly herself.
Kelly recently graduated from our 2022 Starter Company Plus cohort with tremendous success. We have no doubts that the business will continue to grow, and we look forward to seeing more of her stunning pottery pieces throughout the community, on shelves and in hands.

Customers telling us they love and utilize their pottery on a daily basis makes being an entrepreneur totally worth it.

As of now we offer all kinds of functional pottery, lessons and classes.

All day, every day!
What can we expect in the 3 years for GBP?
The vision for Georgian Bay Pottery is to grow our product offerings for our customers and have a vibrant community studio that will provide pottery lessons to those interested in the craft. I love nothing more than sharing my passion with others.

Why South Georgian Bay? What do you love about living and running a business here?
Southern Georgian Bay is a great area to live and raise a family as well as to work and do business. The area has something for everyone to participate in within the community. The natural beauty of the area fills my soul and inspires my work. We have such a vibrant downtown core with a variety of restaurants and unique shops – all places I enjoy being in and supporting.
There is such a sense of community here – people know this is a special place.
Is there a type of music genre you listen to when working/creating? Does it evoke emotion?
I am a great lover of music and sing along to a wide range of songs, artists and styles while in the studio. When throwing on the wheel, there could be a wise range of music playing but country music is most likely to be playing. When I trim, I listen to hertz frequencies to infuse love and positive vibes into my pots, which includes burnishing them with crystals and intention while I finish the different forms.
What is the theme song to your life? Does it spark a certain memory?
Garth Brooks – The River: This song speaks of the challenges of live, obstacles and how perseverance gets you to where you want to be, while enjoying the beauty of the journey.
