Canva for Small Business

Canva is a free design tool that is being continually upgraded with new easy-to-use features. Save time and money as you learn how to use what this amazing design app has to offer. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of using Canva to create designs that represent your brand and communicate your message effectively. Beginners are welcome.

You will walk away with an understanding of:

• How to get started using Canva’s interface

• Canva’s free vs paid features

• How to customize designs to fit the look & feel of your brand

• Tips & tactics for creating content such as eye-catching social media graphics, ads & videos

• Canva’s new AI-powered features

Facilitated by Emily Baillie. Emily is a digital marketing & AI consultant, trainer, speaker and professor. With over 15 years of experience in the marketing industry, she has worked with large and small brands across various sectors including GlaxoSmithKline, Resorts of Ontario, Bruce County Economic Development, United Way, Saugeen First Nation, and Canadian Marketing Association (CMA). Emily has a passion for leveraging tech and AI trends to help small businesses grow.

Through her business Compass Content Marketing she provides marketing strategy advisory services and leads AI, social media and digital marketing workshops and training for organizations. She is a part-time marketing professor at McMaster University where she recently won the university’s Educational Innovator Award.

Emily is a Chartered Marketer and a Panel Judge in the annual CMA Marketing Awards. She holds a BA in Communications from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Certificate in Strategic Marketing from the University of Toronto. She lives in Horseshoe Valley, Ontario with her husband and two small kids.
