Program Highlights

This program prepares Black Businesses across Canada for the application of loans and grants, while also providing comprehensive wraparound support to ensure you succeed.

Step 1 | Pre-Loan Care (12 weeks)

  • Access regular meetings with a mentor to help with pre funding preparation
  • Get assistance with business clean-up like name registration, business bank accounts, tax rules, and instruction on incorporation vs sole proprietorship
  • Access financial clinics that cover cash flow projections, P & Ls, financial landscapes, Asset to debt ratios and more
  • Access assistance with tax filing to ensure there are no taxes owing
  • Learn financial literacy, including credit score numbers, managementGet assistance with a business plan/Business Model Canvas
  • And more…

Step 2 | Loan application process (4 weeks)

  • Schedule Meetings during loans applications to support your application
  • Get expert recommendations on how to choose the right bank, investor or grant for your business
  • Develop a loan management strategy

Step 3 | Post-loan Wraparound Services (up to 1-year)

  • Access monthly coaching or training meetings, custom-built for your needs around post-loan care
  • Get support for things like capacity building, training and education, certifications, diversity supplier networks, co-marketing, business digitization, and professional services support

Who is Eligible?

Criteria and qualifications will differ depending on the stage of business, size of loans, etc. Each business is unique in its needs. We will support business owners to ensure they meet the criteria required to access funding.

Candace Lauren

Candace Lauren works with nonprofits, foundations, and mission-driven organizations to strengthen leadership capacity where it matters most—within real decisions, real systems, and real pressure.

Grounded in the CLGC Leadership Voice Framework, Candace’s work focuses on four core leadership capacities: voice, judgement, systems, and continuity. Through experiential and human-centred learning, she supports leaders to move beyond theory into practice that drives behavioural change and sustainable leadership.

With over 10 years of experience in leadership development, facilitation, program design, storytelling, and community engagement, Candace partners with organizations to strengthen decision-making, foster inclusive leadership, and build resilient cultures. In addition to her independent practice, she serves as Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships and former Founding Board Member of the Black Entrepreneurs & Businesses of Canada (BEBC) Society, leading national programs supporting over 3,000 Black-owned businesses.

Jackee Kasandy is an Event & Panel Speaker and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Advocate with over 15 years of corporate leadership experience and 8 years as an entrepreneur.

She is the Founder & CEO of Kasandy Inc., a 7-figure lifestyle brand supporting global artisans, and the Founder & Board Chair of the Black Entrepreneurs & Businesses of Canada (BEBC) Society. Jackee is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs through mentorship, advocacy, and access to opportunity. Her work focuses on helping businesses grow, scale, and create lasting economic and social impact across Canada.
