ONLINE SCAVENGER HUNT

How to participate:

1. On your phone – Download the free GooseChase app from Google Play or the App Store.
2. Login as a guest or create a player account
3.  Search for the games by title or game code

5The contest is sponsored by the South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) a department of the Town of Collingwood. The contest is open to Canadian residents only and participants must be at the age of majority or older at the time of the entry. No purchase is necessary. Void where prohibited by law. Entry in this contest constitutes acceptance of these contest rules (the “Contest Rules”)

1. ELIGIBILITY. 

To be eligible for this Contest, an individual must:

a. be a legal resident of Canada
b. be of the age of majority or older at the time of entry;

Employees and contractors of the SBEC and The Town of Collingwood and their household members are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

The Sponsor, SBEC, shall have the right at any time to require proof and/or eligibility to participate in the contest. Failure to provide such proof within a reasonable period of time may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the Sponsor for the purpose of this contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry or entrant in its sole discretion for misleading information.

2. CONTEST PERIOD 

The contest begins February 19th, 2020 and ends on March 15th, 2020, at 10:00pm EST. All entries must be received on or before the time stated during that submission period. Sponsor reserves the right to extend or shorten the contest at their sole discretion.

3. HOW TO ENTER 

There is no purchase necessary to enter the contest. To enter, download the free GooseChase app from your Google Play or App Store. Users can choose to register as a guest or create a new account.

Once registered on the GooseChase app, search for the Game by title or game code:

III – Operation Splitsville: DSS Online Scavenger Hunt 3 – Game Code: QM56RJ

Users must complete all missions successfully, within a game, before the prize draw date in order to be entered into a draw. Complete all s/h successfully to be entered to win the Grand Prize.

Entries are limited to one GooseChase account (1) per person. In the case of multiple entries, only the first entry will be considered. All entries become the sole property of the SBEC and the Town of Collingwood. All entries must be received during the Contest Period. Entries will be declared invalid if they are late or incomplete.

Entries received will be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the GooseChase account associated. For the purpose of the Contest Rules, “authorized account holder” of a GooseChase account means the natural person who owns the phone or mobile device where the account was created and where the answers were submitted. Potential winners will be required to provide Sponsor with proof that they are the authorized account holder of GooseChase account associated with the winning Entry.

4. RANDOM DRAW

All eligible entries received during the Submission Period will be entered into the draw and the Winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

Prize Draws will take place on the following dates:

March 1 – 1 Draw from Game 1 completed entries

March 8 – 1 Draw from Game 2 completed entries

March 15 – 1 Draw from Game 3 completed entries

March 19 – 2 Grand Prize Draws – Users who completed all 3 games.

Please note: Once games are open they will be accessible until the end of April 2021.

The selected eligible entrant will be contacted by instant message through the GooseChase Application. Those notified must respond by email within 7 days of notification or they will forfeit their prize and a new winner will be selected and sent notification. This will continue until all prizes are claimed. The SBEC and The Town of Collingwood is not responsible for the failure, whatsoever, of a selected eligible entrant to receive the notification or the Sponsors to receive a selected entrant’s response.

5. ODDS 

Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible submissions received.

6. PRIZES

5 winners will be selected. The first 3 winners will receive a gift card or certificate of $50 value from a participating business of their choice. 2 Grand Prize winners will be selected to receive a $100 Gift Card or certificate from a participating business of their choice. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, sold, substituted or redeemed for cash. No prizes will be shipped, they will be arranged for pickup only from the selected business. The SBEC and Town of Collingwood shall not assume any liability for lost, damaged or misdirected prizes. Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a prize in these Official Rules and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, retrieval,  receipt and use of all or any portion of the awarded prize are solely the responsibility of the respective prize winners.

7. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION 

By participating in the Contest, the entrant agrees to:

a. be bound by the Contest Rules

b. be bound by the decision of the SBEC and The Town of Collingwood

8. PUBLICITY

By participating, each entrant grants SBEC and The Town of Collingwood permission to use his/her name, likeness, comments or uploaded photos for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The SBEC and The Town of Collingwood are not responsible or liable for late, lost, incomplete, misdirected or delayed, entries, notifications, replies, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, Internet Service Providers, websites or other connection, related to the Contest and/or the Contest Website; for errors of any kind, including but not limited to human, electronic, mechanical and/or technical in nature; for failure or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer and online systems, servers, computer equipment, software, e-mail, players, or browsers on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, the Contest Website, any related website, or any combination thereof or otherwise; for any injury or damage to entrant, entrant’s computer, or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in or downloading material in connection with the Contest or other factors beyond the Sponsor’s control.

10. DISQUALIFICATION

The SBEC and The Town of Collingwood reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who is found to be tampering with the entry process or with the operation and administration of the Contest; or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest; or in violation of the Contest Rules.

11. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

By participating in the Contest, the entrant consents to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information by SBEC and The Town of Collingwood for the purpose of administering the Contest, awarding the prize and announcing the Winner and any subsequent advertising or promotion related thereto.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, webpages, source code, drawings, illustrations, logos, slogans and representations are owned or used under license by the SBEC and The  Town of Collingwood / or its affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

13. GOVERNING LAW

The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and SBEC and The Town of Collingwood in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Canadian laws including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws. SBEC and The Town of Collingwood reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify, amend or suspend the Contest and/or the Contest Rules in any way at any time for any reason without prior notice or compensation.

14. DISCREPANCIES

In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials or advertising, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
