We are so excited to follow her journey and see what kind of magic she creates.

Can you tell me about your journey as an entrepreneur? What motivated you to start your business?

My journey as an entrepreneur has been one of the most enlightening experiences of my entire life. It came with its highs and lows and there were some moments where I felt like I had no clue what I was doing, but at the end of the day, it’s a journey that I would like to continue for the rest of my life. Because entrepreneurship was something that I’ve always wanted to pursue, it was my pure passion for businesses combined with my love for creating websites that merged and became what is now Devignly.

What services or products do you offer?

My business primarily focuses on branding services, which includes websites, logos, and any other necessary print media. However, something that I am working on fully launching by the end of this year would be a collection of sustainable wooden STEM toys for children between the ages of 8 and 14.

Who do you look up to for ideas and inspiration?

I don’t think I look up to anyone for ideas, besides maybe Google, however, the first person I tell my ideas to would be my mother. She’s always there to listen and we’re able to just have timeless conversations about it. She is also the person I look up to for inspiration, as she is single-handedly the most hard-working and resilient person I know. No matter what happens, she keeps going and helps as many people as she can on the way. I admire her very much.

What is unique about your business? What is something you want potential clients to know?

One thing that I believe is unique about my business is the personalization and the connection that I strive to establish with all my clients. Many of the clients that I have worked with were people who had unsuccessfully worked with other companies. A client recently shared that they felt connected to me and appreciated the level of transparency and updates I provided. I’ll always strive to go above and beyond the client expectations.

What inspired you to apply for Summer Company? What are you hoping to get out of the program?

I applied for the program because I wanted to meet new people and make connections with like-minded aspiring entrepreneurs. In addition, I also wanted to get a good background on how to properly create a business and get some guidance on the process.

Can you describe a significant challenge or change that you faced while building your business and how you overcame it?

During the start-up phase I had to make a software change that would enable me to provide the best quality services for my clients. One thing that I learned while approaching prospective clients was that there was a significant software transition occurring which I had not accounted for. Thus, I learned entirely new software within the span of two weeks in order to provide my clients with what they required.

What’s been the most rewarding aspect of building your own business?

I love being able to look back to where I was at the very beginning and seeing how far I’ve come. It feels amazing to see the people that I’ve helped, and the changes that I’ve undergone both personally and as a small business owner.

What do you consider to be your core strengths as an entrepreneur, and how have they contributed to the success of your business?

I consider perseverance and resourcefulness my core strengths as an entrepreneur. Personally, I am someone who loves connecting different resources to get to the best possible outcome. This has helped me overcome obstacles that I have faced and I can now move forward with my head up.

What are your favorite local spots to visit on a day off?

My favorite local spots to visit on a day off would be the Collingwood terminals or the small train trail behind my house. I love biking to those two spots whenever I get some free time and just being able to observe and be surrounded by nature and water.

What’s your favorite way to de-stress after a long day of running your business?

My favourite way to de-stress after a long day would be to take a nice hot shower and then eat some good food. I find that showers always help me calm down and relax, whereas a good home-cooked meal helps me feel better after a long day.

What is the most random or unexpected item on your desk right now, and there is a story behind it?

The most random and unexpected item on my desk right now is a mini rubber ducky with a pair of black shades. It was a gift from one of my friends who explained that he used it to help him when solving problems with his code. He said that whenever he was stuck on something he would go through his code, line by line, and repeat it out loud to his rubber duck. This helped him catch whatever error he encountered. So, now I do the same whenever I have an issue. In addition, ducks are also my favourite animals!
